Building and installation
A Størvatt outdoor hot tub is supplied as a DIY kit. The instruction manual is available in Dutch, English, German or French.
Neither special skills nor special tools are required to assemble your Størvatt.
The building of a Størvatt takes between half a day to a whole day and most customers find great satisfaction in this. When you have chosen and prepared the location for your Størvatt, you begin with building the base. Once the base has been assembled, the staves are carefully fixed to the base and pressed tightly together. When all the staves are in place, the three stainless steel rings are fixed around the Størvatt hot tub and tightened. The stove, the protecting partition and the benches are fitted later. The benches can, of course, be fitted at different heights.
If you prefer not to assemble your Størvatt yourself, we can deliver the tub fully assembled. An extra charge is made for this, depending on where you live and whether we assemble your Størvatt at your home or in our workshop.
The foundation on which your Størvatt outdoor tub will stand does not really have to be of a certain special material, but if you do not have a firm and flat surface, it is advisable first to lay a concrete slab. If this is not possible, you can also install your Størvatt outdoor tub on practically any other firm surface (for example paving stones, railway sleepers or suchlike). However, your Størvatt must not make direct contact with earth because the acids in the soil can damage the cedar wood.
Every Størvatt comes supplied with 10x15 cm supporting joists. These joists must be installed under the base of the Størvatt (see drawing). We advise you to prepare the installation carefully beforehand. Moving your Størvatt is always possible and relatively easy to do. Once turned on its side, your tub can easily be rolled to the new location.
